Graphic, disturbing video of the hit-and-run death of an elderly bicycle rider in Koreatown was released this week by LAPD (see it on the next page).
The 90-year-old victim, Joo Yoon, died at a hospital shortly after the April 27 collision, according to LAPD. The dash-cam video was released with the hope that someone might be able to lead investigators to the distinctive car involved -- a Nissan GT-R -- or its driver:
It's a fairly rare, $100,000, 200-plus mph car with a gray or gunmetal paint job and a white racing stripe that runs down the side, police say.
Why does no one help him?!

The a**hole on the bike was dead (no pun intended) wrong. I see this horseshit every day, and, as much as I'm expecting the whiny flames for saying this, its about damn time someone got hurt to send a message. I'll share the road when you f*ckers learn to obey the traffic laws. Too many a**holes on bicycles think they are exempt from traffic laws.
That said, it sucks the guy got killed. No idea why the GTR just plowed through him and kept going. It almost looked deliberate because there was a damn long time between the green and his reaction. The least he could have done is stop and call 911, even I would at least give him the courtesy.

If the GTR had stopped there would have been no charges unless the guy was impaired. The bike was crossing illegally.
I look both ways, but if some dumbass on a bike is behind a guy not going on green I probably won't notice. I have almost plowed people over in the same situation, as well as people coming out into traffic between parked cars.
Streets are for cars. If you're not a car you need to watch out for cars because you're in their territory.

San Francisco is ground zero for people on bicycles thinking they own the world and driving (riding) very inconsiderately, to say the least. It wouldn't surprise me a BIT to see zero sympathy for a downed bicyclist in SF. P.S. that car could have been any color, because the lighting is crazy and the camera is not good for night videos. Could be blue, purple, gray, it's very hard to tell. If the DMV hasn't produced a record of all the cars of the type and given it to the CHP or whoever yet, they suck worse than usual.
