Default New Mac Mini....

Well, I wasn't sure where this fits....DIY , Enhancements, or Off-Topic but I'll post it here to be safe wink1.gif

Saw an interesting project (on-going) that involves a '69 Nova and a Mac Mini. Just wanted to post a link to it as I am sure there is bound to be at least *1* person that is interested in doing something like this smile.gif

Well, I may as well share... I bought a mini, day before they were released wink1.gif I work at a local Apple retailer, and I can get some amazing deals from time to time. I am planning on integrating it into my dash. Car stereo's are 7" wide, while the mini is just 6.5" wide. I am in the process of buying an empty mini outer shell (the acrylic and metal part) so I can modify that, and snap in the whole mini when it's done. Main issue here is this: the power supply. It is a 3 prong DC power going into the mini. The 3rd prong gives a sleep comand so it send a trickle voltage to the mini when it sleeps. It helps conserve power. Though, I am trying to find a power transformer to get the 12v dc out of the car regulated to work on the mini, I'm waiting for someone else to blow a mini up and find out if it can be done. Or else, we may have to take DC, use an inverter, to make a/c then use the power adaptor to go back to DC. This is a nightmare for anyon who has any electrical background... as far as the theory behind it. not to mention the space that all requires.
