Need Some Help With The Girlfriend
You're telling me that you are a straight man, and are actually friends with a girl (meaning you do stuff with them like you would any other friend, hang out with them alone, bs with them, whatever..) and have never thought about them sexually?

zoned guys and girls CAN just be friends, esspecially if each arent attracted to eachother, BUT its very hard for ex's to just be friends. it took a while with my ex but now we are just friends and thats fine with my girl right now, even though i prolly wouldnt and dont hang out with my ex anymore lol.
Negative, there is always the sex issue. The only reason girls and guys can be friends are if you are both married and cannot legally make whoopie.
Otherwise the guy is always interested in getting in their pants. No offense to anyone, but who wants to befriend an ugly girl just because. Just my opinion.
Anyway, Ericy, you seem to have a pretty good handle on the situation at hand. You fell for the oldest trick in the book. WTF was her boyfriend when she needed someone to talk to. You're taken, and so is she. Relax, it'll be rough for a bit, buy her flowers, take her out to dinner, hell make her something for dinner that would impress her. It's grovelling time.

I'm still freinds with some of my ex's. One is a VERY long and good friend and she recently married. I have a GF and I tell her when I talk to them or if I go see them. That's the key. Don't go sneeking off to see other girls.
Without trust, the relationship is gonna die, sorry.
Saying guys and girls can't be just friends is pretty immature. The same as not being mature enough to have a non-sexual relation with someone. I crave sex every day, but I can still have a friendly relationship with a girl. In fact, most of my friends are female. Sometimes you need to get your head out of your pants.

Doode, Ex's are Ex's for a reason.
Leave em like that.
I've got like 3 ex's that I still talk to on a regular basis. Don't see them, as they are half way across the country, but still, it pisses my wife off.

Yea, Ex's are that for a reason. But there is also a reason why you dated them. You must have had some kind of friendship there. No reason why you can't still have that.

So if it was a 15 minute drive you'd be visiting them all the time?
Buy your girl something, and apologize... a lot.
Well, though you are a helpful person, it was still a pretty crappy thing to go and hang out with an ex girlfriend. If I was in your girl's position I'd be skeptical but then again I would just ask you straight out. The thing is though she is hearing all sorts of stuff she should still have that trust in you and know you truly love her and wouldn't hurt her. I mean what I can tell you is to talk to her about it and see what she's feeling. Reassure her and get both of your trust and understanding worked out more. Remember trust and understanding is (to me at least), the most important aspect of a relationship. You need that (and honesty too) in order for anything to work.
