I am taking a technical writing class this semester and I am required to write a technical paper that is 8-10 pages without the title and other fluff. I am allowed to choose my own topic. Anyone got any good ideas for a topic? I want something cool, relevant, and not too difficult. wink1.gif

It has to be technical. Like writing on new technology. One idea that comes to mind is hybrid motors.

That would be interesting. I am just worried about how much good information I would be able to get.

I just wrote an 8 page paper on the design of a single-cycle processor, complete with logic gates, registers, muxes, etc...

It was kinda cool, but then again, I'm a nerd.

what are the requirements? Can it be developing concepts and their potential implementation? how many sources and what types are required? New technology will be best found online.

If it can be in the development stages, something that really interests me is the placing of wireless transmitters in vehicles, and having access points on busy street corners. The wireless transmitters will "bounce" the signals from the access points creating a WiFi city. It's an awesome concept and one that could potentially bring wireless broadband worldwide.

Or nano technology and the concepts of cars "healing" themselves after an accident.

What are your nerdy interests?

How about RFID technology (something I've been highly interested in), or some sort of alternate power source (better batteries for example, not the whole fuel cell craze...). Nanotechnology is really coming into the forefront, so anything along those lines would do well I'm sure
