Ok so my toshiba laptop needed windows reinstalled, so i used a XP install disk and it works now but my internet doesnt work. I'm sure it has something to do with my drivers but i can't figure this junk out.

This is what it looks like under the device manager thing

Telling me all those things don't have drivers.

I tried Toshiba's support site and i downloaded a few different drivers for the ethernet but it didn't help.

I've got a headache, anyone have suggestions?

(by the way im not on that computer now obviously, and if it helps its a satellite M115-S3094)

get your Ethernet card working and a complete windows update. It should start to pull drivers for everything else as well.

use the oldest and work your way up to one that works.

You must first install drivers for the mainboard. I looked it up for you, I think this one is it:

You should afterwards install the Ethernet or Wi-Fi driver; you should install pretty much all other drivers too (Display, Audio)

Radu wins, it was the chipset drivers that were missing, then i had to re-install the LAN driver and it works fine now (actually posting from that computer now).

Thanks a bunch guys we couldnt figure it out.

hmm, i guess problem solved already.

Always keep this as a reminder, install your Motherboard drivers first before you try to install anything else.

Trust me this will make your life much easier.

Glad I could help! Yes, Mr. Muffin had the right idea too! The catch was that it wasn't very obvious which was the mainboard driver (from Toshiba's site).
