well latly ive noticed something about my car. when i walk by her it looks like that shes looking in my direction but not directly at me, and if im far away from her and call her name she looks all around when i do this. is there anyway to see if she might be loosing her vision without taking her to a vet?

To test your cat's vision, cover each eye in turn and see if its other eye can follow a moving finger or responds to a finger moving towards the uncovered eye. You can also test its response to a torch (flashlight) being flashed on and off in the direction of the eye, but this is not 100% accurate since blindness is not always seated in the eyeball itself - the pupil may respond to light, but the normal 'vision signals' are not correctly processed by the brain.

got that from here, has some good info.

... try the same thing you said you did, but at nighttime. it may be that your cat can't see quite as well during day/night. one of my cat got that problem. she cant see quite well during daytime/in lighted areas. but at night time, she's just fine.
