Muslim Mosque at Ground Zero
What do you guys think of this? I think its a slap in the face to 9/11 victims, and if the mosque does end up being there...I feel that there will be alot of hate crime, bomb threats, and violence to the people and the building. Its just not a smart move especially with there being so much going on overseas, military dying, and many many victims families still not over what happened.

not just a mosque, they are tearing down a building which the landing gear from a plane landed inside, then building a 17 story $100,000,000 muslim mosque/rec center.

I don't think it's a wise move, but it doesn't bother me. first, it's not "at ground zero", it's a block away. Second, letting this bother you is what terrorism is all about. Changing the way you think and act is the intended goal. So, don't let it affect you.

Terrorism (the current muslim kind) is part of the centuries-long attempt to force you to die/submit/convert. I find such attempts offensive in general. That they named the project after a place where (as a sign of victory over the infidel) they tore down a church and built a mosque in its place should be a hint to thinking persons as to the true value of this facility to modern-day muslims.

they need to build a non-religious memorial. that way is honors the victims and their families. also this way the US will never forget what happened.

Yes, it bothers me. Lost a family member in that tragedy.
If it does get approved and built, i will guarantee you that it will not stand for long. There are so many people that still feel the need to get "retribution" for what happened, and there are also quite a bit of crazy/unorthodox people roaming the streets of NYC.
I'm all for freedom of religion, but they know that building it in that certain location, that many people will get rubbed the wrong way by it.
All this is going to do is promote violence. No resident of NYC has or will ever forget what happened
And unfortunately, although NOT true, Muslim=Terrorist in many American's eyes

I dont think its a wise move, but no it does not bother or offend me. What did any of the Muslims that will be attending this Mosque have to with 9/11 or terrorism in general?

1. It's a stupid idea. It will be viewed as a slap in the face adding insult to injury. Literally millions of Americans will want to burn this mosque to the ground.
2. It is offensive to build a massive worship center next to the site of the largest atrocity committed by people in the name of that religion.
3. This is something planning officials should have never allowed. The WTC site is hallowed ground to Americans and something like this within line of sight of the WTC site is not in the best interest of anyone.
