Default Mountain bike accident

Holy crap Salmon Falls never lets me down. So my bro an I were almost to the end of the trail back into the parking lot, its the last downhill section that is covered with deep ruts, sharp jagged rocks and steep drops. Im at the top an I stop to let my brother catch up but to my suprise someone had passed him and was workin his way toward me. I get outa the way an let him pass an he is haulin ass. As he gets going downhill the back tire kicked out on him from a rut, him an the bike go over the cliff! I throw my bike down and Brad an I race downhill to help dude an when I get there he is already trying to climb back up. It was about an 8-10 foot fall with a large flat boulder that he luckily landed on or he woulda kept on going down the cliff several hundred feet to the river bed. He had partial downhill body armor on but he acted like nothin even happened an he didnt seem to be hurt. I grabbed his bike from him an he climbed back on the trail an then he procedded to lead us to an super sharp drop in into the parking lot... I had to pass on that cuz im not ready for another ER visit.

I must say since he survived with no major issues that it would have to have been one of the coolest dam things I had ever seen. I almost wrecked in that same exact spot back in november cause I was taking it to fast... it just makes your bike buck around like a freakin bull.

Here is the first 9 minutes of the Salmon Falls trail I found on youtube, notice the cliffs, it's a hell of a drop an there have been a number of deaths out there. The spot were he picks up his bike to climb up the rock is deadly on the way back. i feel I could take it no problem BUT if you mess up it's your last ride cause your droppin a few hundred feet into the rocky riverbed. If you watch the video you will see the trail split at about the 30 second mark then come back together at about 2:33. We were on the upper trail (no video) that climbs about another 100 feet or so but the cliffs are basically the same up there as you see in the video. I really didnt expect to see any sign of dude when i was running down to were he went over let alone him climbing back up with his bike in hand, I figured he was going all the way to the bottom.
