the only way to get good is to practice. I started with eggs, grilled cheese, etc. Now I can make pretty much anything I want to.
btw, those hamburgers just look like you cooked them on WAAAy to high of a setting. You just have to get used to the grill. I cook everything on mine at medium.
soup and cassarole type things are good as well because there's a good bit of initial work but they last longer so it's cheaper.

Here's a kick ass recipe for some kick ass banana pudding we make at my work, its actually really easy to make.
Soak sliced bananas in orange juice for ~3 hours.
after soaking, add bananas to vanilla pudding, add 'nilla wafers, stir, refrigerate.
stuff sell's like crazy, and like i said, its kick ass.
-------------------------------------------
Here's a nice breakfast thats also pretty easy to make.
beat two eggs in a bowl, add (2-3 slices) chopped tomatoes, (1-2 slices) chopped onions, and pull apart a bacon strip into pieces and add to bowl. stir them up and fry in a skillet on low-med heat (add salt & pepper if desired)
stir the mixture up while cooking to keep from drying out the eggs, should be served moist like scrambled eggs
They may be really easy to make, but they both taste great

Dude, I just remembered the way to make badass egg sandwiches
Toast with mayo on it, sliced avacado, fried ham with cheese melted on top of it, and an egg, over medium.
That's my favorite breakfast.
