The Kawasaki ZX-2R 250C is a nice-looking & good-performing little bike. Not sure if you can get them in the States though.

The Honda CBR250RR is also worth a look. Both this & the Kwaka have 18,000+ redlines though & need to be wrung out to get any power out of them. They're quick (for 4-stroke 250s) but have very little torque for everyday riding, so you'll sound like you're doing 100mph when in fact you're only doing 20, lol.

There's a company called Tyga that makes a wicked aftermarket kit for the Honda, which turns it into this...

The ex250 and the 250r are pretty much the same thing just different names more or less.

I love my 2005 250r, its super efficient (60-70mpg), and suprisingly relatively quick believe it or not. You'll take anything on four wheels that's not a bonafide sports car.

You do have to watch out for crazy people but wear your lid and drive like everybody is a terrible driver (expect the worst) and you'll be fine.

Back to the 250 I'm comfortable with it and it doesn't disappoint me but I would like the look and extra power of the 600's so I think ima get a used kawasaki zx6r or a yamaha r6 once I get the cash flowin again. At 55mph my tach is 6500 on a 13000rpm redline so its not like screamin. And it carves up corners like it's its job.

I am torn up on what I should really get.

I WANT a 250 Ninja.

My wife thinks I am going to kill my self.

I don't want her to think I am thinking of myself when the income tax check comes rolling in next year.

It's just I have wanted a bike since I was in school, and almost bought one when I was a single guy with no kids or a girlfriend even.

So, I am considering the thought of some kind of street legal dune buggy kind of thing (mainly for my boys, not me).

I get around $7,500 when tax time rolls around, so I got some room to play with I guess.

I ain't mentioned to her any of not getting the bike, from what she knows, I am DEAD SET ON GETTING THIS BIKE, no questions asked. fing02.gif And she seems to be fine with that, although beeing the good husband that I am, still feel bad for not getting the family something together, and getting a bike anyway, and have her worrying about me.

I guess it's a good thing I have until January or February of next year to think about it

So I guess you don't want to hear that I lost a cousin this weekend due to losing control on his motorcycle eh?

not for sure in the crash if safety equipment would have helped him in this one. knowing Jared he probably wasn't wearing a helmet as he was quite a wild child, but...

Nice, not a fan or red though, mine would definitely be blue(gotta match the tib).

And not to be prying, but how much it cost altogether after the fees, taxes, and all the rigga ma' roe

I know they start off af at $3,500 or close to that be for all the BS extras.

i want a bike but dont know if i will get one cause of all of the crap i have to do to drive it on base...

personally if i do get one i would be getting it for the sole purpose of riding it a whole 3 miles to work and thats it, but dont know if its worth it in my situation...

also the best time to purchase a bike in the winter...that is when alot of people sell there bikes for cheap, so they can move up to a different size...craiglist is your friend can find alot of good bikes on there at the same price of a ninja 250r
