Well I got the Lasik surgery on the 3rd of Dec and I love it. It's been over a month and my vision is still here fing02.gif

I did a lot of research on the doctors in Texas and found this Dr. up in Plano who is really like a celebrity. He's done over 30,000 people himself. It's crazy how many he's done. He was one of the first Dr's in TX to do the procedure and he has like 10 laser machines in his room.

It's like a big factory up in his business. It's crazy how many people he has in there at one time. He does nothing but appointments during the week and on Fri-Sun he does all the surgeries.

I went for a appointment on a Thur and got checked out. He came in the room and told me how much and asked how soon I wanted to get it done. I said ASAP. He said how about Sat..I was like, I'm from out of town. So then he said Fri the next day. So I stayed, got it done and the same day I was good.

Point it....I couldnt be happier with it. I never doubted it and can't wait to go back for my second procedure.... Only reason there is a second is because my astigmatism in my left eye was really really bad. I mean bad, so he's going to do my left eye twice.

Wow technology today!

I'm looking at getting it as well, everyon has told me to wait till I'm 18 though as my eyes can change and doing the surgery before then might be a waste. Most doctors won't even do it on those below 18.

Ahh well, one day I won't be blind. tongue.gif

What was the price of your operation? Was it covered by any insurance?

Excellent news. I can't wait to get mine done waay down the road. At least 2 years away.

The only thing I will miss is looking at the road at night without my glasses on (not driving of course). It's amazing how lights appear to my vision, I wish others could see what I see. Every light is a circle (no matter the shape) because I am near sighted and lights/objects a far distance away just become a blur.

It like looking at a huge horizon of different colored and shaped lighted ferris wheels (not spinning) and they pop up and disappear out of nowhere. Weird, but cool.

Glad to hear all is going as planned long, just dont' take viagra mang. fing02.gif

Im glad everything went okay for you. I wanted to get Lasik surgery while I still had insurance but my eye doctor said I couldnt because of my astigmatism..but I guess he was wrong seeing as you have the same problem and you were able to get it done.

Hows it feel to not have to wear glasses or contacts all the time?? fing02.gif

^^^^ dude is fuccin awesome. nothing can explain the feeling. i feel like a whole different person. a lot of doctors wont do astigmatism because they dont have the equipment. this guy had it all and i had it in both eyes. my left eye was so bad at first he said he couldnt do it. then he said he would and do it twice for free. so nice so nice.

yeah ive heard that but you still have a chance of it getting worse even if your older. but at least wait until then...by then there will be so much more new stuff on lasik that it will be worth the wait

i paid 3300 for both eyes, followups for a year, and getting any more follow up surgeries for free.

hnestly hamhead, wait until you are 20. maybe even 21. It may seem like a long time, but in the long run it will saev you money. That is IF your eyes have gotten progressively worse over the years. Mine far sighted vision has decreased starting in the third grade and last year was the first year if made minimal to no changes at all. I am looking for approxametely two years of no change before I consider lasik surgery, plus college has made me broke so it has to wait till I graduate anyways.

long, what about that health insurance question? Did ANYONE cover it, or was this entirely out of pocket?

now that I think about it, that guy has to have the biggest ego in the world, or feel like jesus or something. I mean, 30 THOUSAND people calling you for a week after surgery saying how much they LOVE his work and thanking him, amazing guy. Must be loaded too. cool.gif
