We had a Japanese exchange student staying with us for a while. She used to cover he mouth when she ate because apparently it considered rude to watch people eat and, due to a growing number of 2 income homes in Japan, kids don't get a chance to eat with their parents often so there no mealtime interaction. Call it what you will I don't like watching people eat either. Then again most Americans eat like hogs at the trough.

 

and in other countries, low birthrates are in their lowest rates as of blah blah blah.
