ugh... if you HAD to! DAMNIT!!
I also wouldn't buy one (maybe a used Lumina for like a grand, when I will need to transport a family around), but still!
In any case, what is this 37 year old import you speak of?

The consensus is: Almost nothing modern, and if so, hardly practical.
Thanks for participating, as "japcrap" owners (my friend calls them that) you've mostly all selected big, guzzling, hugely impractical cars, yet you all (mostly) own efficient imports.
Interesting. I will compile this data for my friend.

If you wanted real data for daily drivers it should have been specified, all you asked was which would you own and not what would you drive, you didn't mention getting rid of the tib at all in fact. I actually already own the car I posted. But it hasn't been on the road since 02. Because it's a "big, guzzling, hugely impractical car".
If I could drive any domestic car I wanted without concern for fuel mileage, fuel costs then the cutlass would be back out of storage again. But then again the rules are all screwy and included non-domestic cars so with that addition the only car I would have considered would be a lotus. Incredibly awesome cars.
If you'd asked the question as "if your daily driver had to be a domestic what would you buy right now." which is in fact what you were asking I would have been more along the lines of srt4, solstice, and heck since lotus is domestic I'd get a Miata until I saved up for my Elise.
Man if you wanted to be a little creative you could have made it. "The government is buying back all imports, crushing them, and making everyone buy domestic to help the economy. You just got a check for 22k(price of boring base impala), what would you get?"

Right, because my first line of text within the thread depicted me driving an LS1 Camaro or a Viper. Note that I selected Cavalier and Neon, the Sephia and Accent equivalents for domestics (one can argue Focus, but, I don't like focusing my wallet on repairing that peice of shit).
No need to get "creative" when all you gotta do is use some gray matter and inference...

I set the pace, not my fault you guys can't find reasonably priced domestics to compete with your present choice of cars. That's the problem with most of you unimaginitive Americans: You need to be bottle fed everything.

Just because your imagination got the best of you isn't my fault!!
LOL look at all of you, trying to "justify" it now that you've fallen in on your own self-made traps!!

Well, which one is it dude? Your thread title was not clear, that's why you got the responses you did. Has nothing to do with being American, has nothing to do with being creative, has to do with your word choice in this thread. By the way, the expression is spoon fed.

Jed, where does your deep rooted disgust for Americans come from? Every other post there is a "I'm right and all you Americans are wrong" feel to it.. Were you beat up as a young child, picked on for saying "Eh.." all the time?
This is the internet! There is no tone in your typing, no connotation to your sentences, no implied but not stated meanings. Just the words you type, which can be interpreted anywhich way.
I drive a 1971 bmw right now, beats the pants off any other car I've driven daily thus far. and I've gotten more ass from owning that car than the tib (which is weird, because women go crazy for black rd1's).
