I stayed away from here when RDT was up and running because of friction with another member. I tried to not like HA. I tried to go to HP when RDT closed up - but it sucked so bad I hung around here instead. I'm sure glad I did. The last time I went to HP was to chase an old thread, and it was gone. It never crosses my mind these days, for good or for bad thoughts. I just don't care about it anymore. I think the amount of work you would have to do to bring that site back up to snuff, it's just not worth it.

Well, I stayed on as an Admin with them for a while. When I realized they didn't really care about how I thought things should run and they just wanted me to be a Mod, I resigned and left there for good.

I look at HP like a step child I helped raise through many formative years. I was proud of that kid, let me tell you. Then the mother left me (us) and visitation was cut way back. Eventually she remarried some a-hole petty criminal (Autoguide) and the kid started doing drugs. I still loved the kid, but couldn't bear to see the moral decline. Eventually the kid was shanking someone in the street over a gambling debt and got hit by a bus. I didn't even go to the funeral, just heard about it after the fact. I did visit the grave site a couple of times, but it's too painful.
Now Mikey shows up and is proposing digging up the dead step child and re-burying it in the pet cemetery. The poor kid is dead. Might as well leave it at that and move on.

Mike knows I still hang out at HP once in a while.
I answer the few questions that people post, if I don't know the answer or think HA is a better fit I refer them over here. I haven't been warned or banned and I post the link to this site quite a bit??? Unfortunately the place is dead. When I first joined HP a few years back there was some new posts everyday, but there was also a certain member that was a complete ass and caused a lot of people to leave and never come back (including new members). I suggested that he get banned, but that didn't happen for another year and by then it was too late. Will it ever get back to it's prime? I doubt it.

It could have been me. I used to be a moderator. They used to protrude against moderators that didn't give negative rep. They (more specifically, he) didn't like me because I'd call BS on heavy moderation and how it was losing rdtiburon.com its members. Tens of users from all over the world would PM me explaining themselves and how they felt excluded!
I forfeited moderating and left rdtiburon.com totally before coming here, before the last year of operation. When I discovered it closed down, it came as no surprise. rdtiburon got shut down because Mike (javageek) said in his own words that the forum turned into a place he didn't think was how he originally envisioned and the focus around cars was replaced with drama and heavy moderation. Unfortunately there's too much of that going on.
And it bewilders me when people come back and say it was the best Tiburon site. The aftermarket from the 1990's lingered into the 2000's which made people believe that rdtiburon was that much better than HyundaiAftermarket. It's 2013 and all the companies like KORE motorsports, rside, and tigerlily terminated! This forum overshadows those because of Visionz's easy-going approach he brought from sunny California. If other sites want to compete, they're going to have to learn and realize they've got the wrong formula for success.
