Such a disaster. I have friends in Houston and they are saying some places have been hit with over 6 feet of water. Going to be a long time before the city comes back from this.

A few weeks, tops. Loads of people need to be floated out by the cajun navy and the national guard, but lots are also in pretty good shape. It wasn't the end of the world, just another flood, a bit worse than most. Houston floods a LOT. They know how to come back from it.

I have water less than a km from the house currently. If it reaches me it means they lost control of the Barker Reservoir damn and it is going to cause even more headaches for those downstream/downtown. The amount it holds is insane. That much water being released in an uncontrolled way will make this an even bigger catastrophe.



This isn't anything like Houston has ever seen.
