Picked up my special glasses today. This is the first time in my life I have gotten to see an eclipse so I'm excited for it.

I caravanned down to the path of totality and camped in rural Oregon with a bunch of people. It was well worth it. The partial phase of the eclipse was interesting but totality was borderline life changing. They're nowhere near the same thing. If you get a chance to see a total solar eclipse, do it. I can't imagine you regretting it.

Traffic coming home was a total disaster though, as expected. Took 15 hours to do 7 hours worth of driving.

The next totality in 2024 is supposed to pass pretty much directly over where I live. For once I think I'll take 187sks's advice and make a point to go see it

Got a great pic of the eclipse! You can even make out some Sun spots!
