How much to spend on an engagement ring

when i proposed i checked every store in town just about until i found what i thought to be the best 'bang for the buck'. it was amazing the difference, i spent $1000 for the engagement ring (it was on sale, don't hate me!) and it was better than spending $2000 at other stores. i think being well informed of the whole clarity/inclusion scale and what it really means is the most important thing to making this kind of decision.
i don't think what you spend matters. you should spend what you feel is right. doesn't mean that is a license to be a cheap bastard
beyond that you don't want to ask me about marriage. i kicked her out the door a year and a half ago and sold the rings for next to nothing. marriage sucks.

Those are lab made gemstones...basically high priced ZC. Not the real thing.
Guess if you people can live with themselves by purchasing a fake diamond and dont think their wife will ever find out...go for it. As for me, my conscience would eat me alive. I wouldnt be able to give a fake stone to my girl knowing its fake and her thinking it was real.
