I prefer to wash my car at home instead of the coin op but the water at my house leaves spots on my car. I know there are filter and water softening systems for the entire house but don't wanna go that route due to the expense and labour to install. Besides I drink bottles water %95 of the time.
Has anyone ever seen an inline garden hose attachment that would do the same?
I know Mr Clean made this system:

But it was kinda hokie in operation but actually worked well on the spots.
Ideas?

The spots on your car, are building up in every pipe, every valve, every fitting, and every faucet in the entire house. You don't want to know what happens in your dishwasher, clothes washing machine and ice maker.
Get a whole-house water softener. If for no other reason than you don't have to buy bottled water any more because your house water no longer tastes like the local dirt. Never mind all the 'green' reasons for abandoning bottled water (money & environment both)

I may have over exaggerated the drink bottled water only. We have one of those Brita water jugs for in house water. The water isn't bad enough that you can smell sulfer or see build up on valves or pipes. But it does show up on my BLACK car.
I've never done any plumbing before nor do I want to send $200+ on a house filter system just to wash my car 02.gif

I've never had any problems with my Mr Clean Auto Wash system other than running out of soap at the wrong time, spilling the soap when moving, or washing the car in direct sunlight/hot.
There's been a few threads about them, but there are filters on ebay you can buy for your hose that will super filter the water.

There's been some posts about them, and some are cheaper than that.
