That would be annoying, but it is funny. Not much above just running towards the street with traffic on it then stopping at the last minute though.

Yeah but this way people see you from a little bit further away and they dont panic by slamming on their brakes.
I dunno, just reminds me of people who pretend to hit you just so you flinch. Especially the ones when it was almost dark. What kind of idiot would blow through what looks like 2 people holding a rope across in front of you? I just think it's dumb when a prank relies on people doing the natural thing that is logical then being laughed at.
That being said, I did think it was funny, but it would be funnier with pedestrians that should be able to legitimately see that there is no rope at the speed they're walking. Some people would still stop and I would think it's funnier. When driving I would have stopped or at least slowed down to be sure there was no rope. I have seen another version where they pulled up the invisible rope at the last second and people were locking up their brakes. At least these guys gave enough warning to not require that.

When I was a kid, my buddy and I actually did that across a jogger's path. One guy yelled at us because he thought we really were holding something (like fishing line). He refused to believe us when we said we didn't have anything.
I was telling some friends about this and they told me that they seen something similar on just for laughs. Except they had a third person that would actually pretend to avoid it and then the rest of the people behind that person did the same thing just because he did it.
