While I don't agree with you giving out false information, I don't think you should be too concerned. It's not unusual these days for people to not want to report minor collisions because the insuarance companies don't need much before they will raise your rates even if you are not at fault. It's often cheaper to deal with it themselves. However, she should have been willing to exchange information with you. I would have just refused to give her any info if she refused. She should have asked to see your license/registration/insurance and written it down herself. That's a bonehead move on her part to just take what you gave as correct.

In Ontario the police wouldn't even respond to a collision like that unless there is an injury. Both parties should have gone to a Collision Reporting Centre.

Anyway, I wouldn't sweat it. I don't think anything will come of it. It's not like it happened in some small town where you are likely to see each other again.

ppff haha. forget about it. if the cops do hunt you down then you'll worry. right now you're fine. and it's funny what you did. i would have done the same if i knew the lady was so stupid not to write down my tag.

she probably has a criminal record. leave it alone and wake up tomorrow fresh.
