going to court for my car.

Umm.. I doubt you could go into the courtroom and say... "Look at this cop. Does he look like he has good judgement, your honor?"
It's always the cops word against yours. Their job is to uphold the law and it is up to them to do the spot checks on the public to make sure they're in line. Every now and then, the police can make bad calls, but that's why there are judges to determine your specific case.
You probably will have to pay a fine, if anything at all, and then they will order you to get the stuff fixed. Or if you get it fixed before the court date, they might just waive the fines.

^^ um, since a friend did the same exact thing and won his court case, it could very well work. my buddy brought in his proof of a passing inspection and brought up the officers "best judgement" and the magistrate found him not responsible
and keep this in mind, he isn't going to be in front of a judge (if things are done the same way there as they are here.) He first will have a date w/ the court magistrate. if the magistrate finds him responsible, then there is an option of an appeal to bring it before a real judge.

Allright, it was just me being doubtful, b/c it just sounds weird. I don't like cops personally, but doesn't it make you think - if we can't trust our cops' judgements. I guess it's always been like that. No one can be truly fair...unless...ROBOT cops
Why do people always bring up Harleys? They don't come from the factory that loud..........the owners make them that way, which brings me to another point.....I hear WAY more fart can cars than I do motorcycles.
Passenger cars are governed by a different set of regulations than commercial trucks. Trucks are loud for a reason and typically stay the same throughout their life. That is to say, you don't see many semi owners replacing their stacks with a pair of Borla Stingers.

AllBlackTibby... it depends on where you live. My neighbor owns a motorcycle shop, both builds them and sells factory bikes.... they're almost always deeper and louder than most import exhausts (unless it's a 5" cannon on a 4-cylinder or a camaro with 4 straight pipes)
my stepdad called the DA or something and they said i gotta pay 120$ fee for it to go away. Wether i goto court or not, my parents are making me get a silencer for my muffler, just to please my mom.
