I just wanted to point out how serious this issue is becoming.

12" of snow in Corpus Christi TEXAS on Christmas Day.
60 + Degrees F is the forcast high for the DC area on JANUARY 1st!!!!!

WTF have we (Actually, more likely our ancestors) done to our planet??

Also, as weird as this may sound, Global Warming may actually be the prelude to the next Iceage. Becuase as the ice melts in the Arctic and Antarctic, all of that fresh water mixing with the salt water Gulf Streams, may actually turn this extremely important natural phenomena OFF. Completely. Europe will be hit hard and fast. Fewer storms, which equals less fresh drinking water, or water for irrigation. Famine similar to whats happening in Africa will be common, Diseases will run rampant. Extreme Wheather. Such as more hurricanes, more tornados, more blizzards. Then the glaciers will begin growing again as all the energy from the now unstable climate begins to dissapate.

But the above scenerio is actually what WE SHOULD BE HOPING FOR. Becuase the glaciers will eventually pull back and the gulf stream will eventually start back up. Returning our planet to roughly what it was like 10 thousand of years ago when "Civilization" supposedly sprung up out of nowhere.

I'll leave my thoughts on the end of the last Iceage being the beginning of human civilization for another day though.

The alternatives??? Venus or Mars. Take your pick.
Just some food for thought.

I live 30 miles south of Corpus and we got just as much snow. We are still amazed how much snow we got. I talked to some of the old timers from where I live and in some of the surrounding towns and they stated that it snowed 40yrs ago but it was nothing compared to what happened. Something is definately going on. They call the area where I live the "Wild Horse Desert" and for us to get snow considering the awful heat and humidity we get in the summer is unreal.

Bleh, I hate being cold. So no ice age for me. Hopefully I'll be dead and gone by then. Did I mention I hate being cold?

Yeah, the environment is pretty f00ked up from what I can tell. I usually try and be nice to the environment (Damn you Tiburons with your no cats! J/K laugh.gif) like trying to conserve water and recycle and stuff. Some people are gay and don't do that though. Even then theres just too many damn people on this planet because we like have no natural enemies. All other critters are:

a) retarded
B) have things that kill them
c) if they are not the above two, they don't reproduce much

Humans arent retarded (Well, most of us. Redz is the exception lol.gif), nothing kills us in the wild, and we have sex like bunnies on viagra and create giant amounts of babies.

I mean, there's like 6 billion people. We really do need to colonize Mars and like... the moon. And ship like 2.5 billion to Mars and a half billion to the Moon. We really don't pollute as much as we used to, and we conserve more than the people in the say, 1800's, but there's too many people.

Ever seen in the wild when there gets to be too many deer, then they run out of food and like 80% die? Thats probably whats going to happen to humans.

Something's definately gonna happen sooner or later. There are several signs that indicate something's gonn happen. The Aztecs had two major predictions.
First of all they were able to predict the year of their destruction and more or less accurately described their conquerers. The second prediction was that the world was to end between the years 2010 to 2012 by fire.
Next, in the book of Daniel, an angle tells Daniel (during the Babylonia occupation and relocation of Isreal to Babylon) that things (I'm not quoting word for word) will be allowed to continue for a time time and a half. In the bible, a time represents a thousand years..2.5 times equals 2,500 years. This took place in the year 500BC..guess where that puts it, around 2000AD.
The bible code predicts a major earthquake to hit California (the bible code has California and earthquake together more than combination of places and earthquakes) in the year 2010. You saw what the tidal wave did to asia, imagine a major quake hitting Cali knocking part of it into the ocean..unimaginable damage to asia and Nothamerica..plus there are two major volcanos that border the fault line perimeter...could possible set those off , a volcano has the power to destroy the face of the earth believe it or not.
Also, there are major psychics who cannot see past the year 2010.

What a major coincidence that these things are predicted to happend so close together from different religious and prediction aspects..

Remember our calendar is also not accurate..we should be in between the years 1998 and 2000. The guy who invented our calendar screwed up.

Just thought this might be interesting for some people.

As shown through ice records in the poles Global Warming is not something new. I believe (cant remember the date exactly) 3000-3500 years ago the Artic Ocean was about 50 degrees F. Yes this time around it is occuring faster but regardless it has happened before and will happen again in another few thousand years. It is called adapt. Nothing is perfect. Hell eventually in the next 1-2 thousand years our magnetic poles will switch AGAIN. Yes that has happened many times before. Yes it messes things up and yes things adapt to those new changes. So as always you need to remember two things. 1st of all is that we will survive in one way or another. And 2nd is the threefold law. Just so you dont ask it is one of the Wiccan main principles that whenever you do something negitive to something to someone it will come back onto you threefold. So it is simply our turn to pay for what has been done by our ancestors.

whoever wrote the first post is a smart guy. Yeah everybody thinks global warming is just the world temp raising a few degrees, and they're right...but they don't realize what that could do to the earth...so they don't do anything about. Most people don't mind if the world gets 4 degrees hotter, they think "I can live with it" that's BS, the world is as it is for a reason. There is a "theromohaline" current that starts in the northern atlantic ocean (where it is salty) and flows around the earth's oceans deep under the normal currents. If the world gets a few degrees hotter than that means LOTS more of the northern pole will melt into the salty atlantic (making it less saline <----i.e. salty) therefore stopping the thermohaline current. This current is what brings warmer (livable) temperatures to Europe and the East Coast of America. If it stops (which it has in the past <---i.e. ICE AGE) then the world temperature will DROP dramatically and Europe, Canada, the East Coast will be covered in ice. This is where a substantial portion of the world's population lives and where are food grows, where will these people go and where will we get food? Who will accept all these fleeing people out of Europe? The CIA actually has reasearched this (go to cia.gov) and it is predicted that the thermohaline current will stop or slow but it won't cause a HUGE ice age like in the past, but it will dramatically affect the world.
Global "warming" is catching up to us....fast.
Cdog, 80 years? let the 8.9 earthquake in the Indian ocean be a wake up call to you. sounds like your shit outta luck.
As for colonizing other heavenly bodies, Saturn's moon (the frozen ocean one) looks like our best bet next to mars right now. But that's like 100 years from now and beyond. I'm anxious to see what happens to our world next.

Here's how I think the world will end:
