Default Finding a good camcorder/palmcorder..

Ok, so I want a video recorder so I can make video's of me racing, doing stupid things, and some other stuff (not porn!!!), and also take pics, like of my car and stuff.
So I was wondering if you guys own/have any experience with/know of a good one that is in the 200$ range, and DOESN"T use tapes. I want one that stores it with internal memory, so I can just upload it straight to the computer.
Im ashamed to say im a geek and totally new to these - but they can store video in memory not just tapes/discs right?

I have a digi camera that you can record video's up to 5 minutes in length and upload them on the pc if you're interested in something like that let me know. Mine was 420 tho.

Btw I replyed to your post in the FS thread.

Yeah I checked ebay.
I want something where I can record, but I don't want to use a tape/disc. Is that possible? Do they make cam's with like, 256 megz or 512 megz space internally? Or a cam that you can save onto a flash drive?
I really just wanna like, take it out, make a vid, and upload to the computer..

I still prefer mini DV.. and you can upload to a comp with a firewire.. just takes a while for the tape to run through.

Is it worth it to get one that runs on tapes?
You can still upload it from cam->comp with ease right?
And you can overwrite the tapes?
