For those of you that missed the shoutbox tirade this morning, a quick, yet funny thread, of DTN losing it on me, about his own mistake.
First off, read this.
http://www.rdtiburon.com/index.php?showtopic=22859&hl=
I'm pretty specific, so no one needs to waste time with asking questions, and DTN, god bless him, tried to help. Somewhere though, he lost it.
This is the "Deleted Post" from that thread.
Blue text is DTN's text, as the quoting formatting isn't working right, and DTN likes blue.
So, since it's not COLUMN 2, since the engine IS TURNING OVER, as I stated in my thread, and the rest of his posts are just filling up a thread that no one will help with now, I deleted the post and warned him, as I TOLD him to please leave the thread alone.
I get this PM.
I Pm'ed back, letting him know that my TPS is a Keifco, and BRAND new, that I have no TPS problems, and not to PM me about this tirade again.
So he posts in the shoutbox.
Just thought this was funny enough that everyone else here would want to see.

DTN, please stop posting, you are making no sense at all.
I said, it's TURNING OVER, but it is NOT STARTING. That means the ENGINE IS GOING THROUGH THE CYCLES BUT NOT BEGINING INTERNAL COMBUSTION. The STARTER NOISE has NOTHING TO DO AT ALL WITH THE FUEL PUMP NOISE. One is in the engine bay, the other is under the BACK SEAT.
Jesus friggin Christ.
Don't tell me that because you don't understand what I'm saying. The engine is not turning over.
QUOTE
So, in conclusion, my first post says it all. Car will not start. It rapidly turns over (starter turning the engine, everything moving, so the starter works, belts are fine), it doesn't START and run though (No internal combustion present, engine stops turning as soon as the key is let off of because of lack of explosions in the cylinder). The FUEL PUMP is supposed to be audiable if you have the seat up and the cover off of the pump (I hear nothing and can't feel it whirring underneath, NOTE: Do NOT confuse this whirring with the VERY LOUD STARTER NOISE that comes from the opposite end of the car).
Does that explain it to everyone?
Check coloumn 2. Engine not turning over. Go down to the bottom. TPS.
You're not combusting.

Jeremy,
I think you misinterperated the terminology used. I don't know what the heck you warned me for. The not turning over coloumn is exactally your problem. Your engine is spinning, It's not turning over. I posted because I knew what I was talking about. You think the TPS would actually lock up the engine?
The way they are using the term Turn Over, it means to actually go through ALL the motions. Your car is not making an attempt to combust. The TPS tells the fuel pump to turn on. If you search for TPS, you can find the thread between myself and another member where we troubleshoot the exact same problem this week.
I think it's really messed up that you tell a tech who does nothing but read tech manuals all day long to not post because you do not agree with what they said. Then when he tries to explain the reference you warn and delete the post. That was not only rude, but insulting.
I understand you are frustrated with your car and dealing with expensive parts.

- Damnit I'm so freakin' pissed at REDZMAN.
(09:41 AM) Undacovatib
- why? Cause he warned you again?
(09:42 AM) REDZMAN
- HAHAHAHAH! He'll get over it someday. Following instructions friggin sucks sometimes. I'm off to go swap some parts on the RD's.
(09:44 AM) DrivingTibNaked
- The dude warned me for giving out perfectly good advice after alot of research and because he dosn't "want ANOTHER thread on this site filled up with your bickering and arguing about wordplay because you are a tech head". I almost gaurantee the suggestion I made fixes the problem.
(09:45 AM) Undacovatib
- are you talking about the G and C thread that was addressed to him?
(09:46 AM) REDZMAN
- No, it won't, because I already swapped the TPS, and mine is a brand new Keifco.
(09:46 AM) REDZMAN
- Your advise isn't perfectly good, and it's just rehashing the same shit already said time and again in my thread.
(09:47 AM) REDZMAN
- Oh, I should mention too, that I have the shop manual, and already looked at all of that stuff what, 2 days ago? Oh shit, I posted THAT in the thread also.
(09:47 AM) Undacovatib
- haha
(09:48 AM) Undacovatib
- this stuff is great
(09:48 AM) DrivingTibNaked
- I'm just saying, the engine is not combusting. It's not incomplete combusting. It's not combusting. Maybe the manufacturer mislabeled the TPS as not turning over. But the TPS will not cause the car not to turn over.
(09:49 AM) DrivingTibNaked
- Either way, the definition of turning over now becomes going through all the steps and catching a combustion every once in a while.
(09:49 AM) REDZMAN
- The engine IS turning over. As I stated, about 2 dozen times in the thread.
(09:49 AM) REDZMAN
- It is NOT combusting, which I also said, about 2 dozen times.
(09:49 AM) DrivingTibNaked
- not by hyundai standards.
(09:49 AM) REDZMAN
- NOT combusting is Definately INCOMPLETE combusting.
(09:50 AM) REDZMAN
- As it is NOT finishing the Combusting cycle.
(09:50 AM) DrivingTibNaked
- then why would they put the TPS in the not turning over section?
(09:50 AM) REDZMAN
- Uh huh, and everything Hyundai says is gospel.
(09:50 AM) Undacovatib
- so...crank is spinning over....but no spark?
(09:50 AM) DrivingTibNaked
- How would the TPS prevent the engine from turning over?
(09:50 AM) REDZMAN
- Undacova, did you check out the thread?
(09:50 AM) REDZMAN
- DTN, I never said it would, YOU DID.
(09:51 AM) Undacovatib
- nope...just wondering why we are arguing...going to read it now.
(09:51 AM) DrivingTibNaked
- It's right there in the manual
(09:52 AM) REDZMAN
- So? I know my TPS is good, so that point is invalid. You are still reading the wrong COLUMN, it's turning over, it's not COMBUSTING.
(09:52 AM) DrivingTibNaked

(09:52 AM) DrivingTibNaked
- It's right there. Engine not turning over. CKP
(09:53 AM) Undacovatib
- DTN....engine is turnign over...
(09:53 AM) Undacovatib
- he is getting no spark
(09:54 AM) Undacovatib
- no igniting in the combustion chambert
(09:54 AM) REDZMAN
- DTN, that's CKP, not TPS. You frigging MORON.
(09:54 AM) REDZMAN
- CKP = Crank Position Sensor
(09:54 AM) REDZMAN
- TPS = Throttle Position Sensor.
(09:54 AM) REDZMAN
- CKP = on the front of the block.
(09:55 AM) REDZMAN
- TPS = ON THE FRONT OF YOUR TB.
(09:55 AM) DrivingTibNaked
- The engine is spinning. You have to take the manfuacturer's word on their tech lit. Hyundai's definition of turning over is combustion starting. REDZMAN: I never suggested anything other then CKP.
(09:55 AM) DrivingTibNaked
- WTF are you talking about TPS?
(09:55 AM) REDZMAN
- YOU SAID TPS ABOUT 3 DOZEN TIMES IN THE SHOUBOX ALONE!!!
(09:56 AM) Undacovatib
- well, hyundai is wrong on their terminology...lets say it right.
(09:56 AM) DrivingTibNaked
- Shit... You said TPS, so I said TPS. I meant CKP
(09:57 AM) DrivingTibNaked
- Undacova: They made the product. You can't say they're wrong when they write about it. They wrote about it differently then we're used to
(09:57 AM) REDZMAN
- Hyundai is RIGHT on their terminology actually, all of that is placed under "WILL NOT START".
(09:57 AM) REDZMAN
- Combustion = Explosiions.
(09:58 AM) REDZMAN
- No combustion = No explosion. Combustion is incomplete.
(09:58 AM) REDZMAN
- Either no fuel, or no spark is getting there.
(09:58 AM) Undacovatib
- i know what combustion is.
(09:58 AM) DrivingTibNaked
- Gotta go to work.
(09:58 AM) Undacovatib
- correct,
(09:58 AM) REDZMAN
- DTN thinks that Incomplete Combustion means that the car is running but shittly.
(09:59 AM) Undacovatib
- haha
(09:59 AM) Undacovatib
- thats awesome, but to an extent incomplete combustion could also be a way to say a misfire.
- Damnit I'm so freakin' pissed at REDZMAN.
