Defining Rice
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ricer
Wikipedia has EVERYTHING.
"Ricing" (a term usually not used by the modifier himself) a vehicle is meant to emulate the work of independent automotive tuning companies who modify more than just appearance and give an appearance of greater ability then the car actually has. Ricing is generally looked down upon amongst people who actually modify the running parts of the vehicle itself, for example engine tuning.
Common aftermarket modifications in this style, or "rice," can include:
Body modifications
aerodynamic-looking body kits
wings and spoilers
carbon fiber hoods (sometimes fiberglass replicas made to look like carbon fiber)
excessively large rims (for example chromed, or "dubs")
lowered suspension
Aesthetics
bright paint or interior, frequently in contrasting colors
decals and stickers
for aftermarket parts not actually present on the vehicle
with the name of the car's model in a stylized font, usually covering the upper rear window
badging from other higher performance vehicles (Honda's "Type-R" and Nissan's "GTR" being the most common)
tinted windows (If not professionally tinted, the use of cheap tint cellophane often traps air bubbles yielding aesthetically unpleasing results.)
a loud, free-flowing exhaust system with a large cylindrical resonator at the rear of the car (often referred to as a "fart can", "coffee can exhaust" or "bee fart exhaust") meant to add extra power (though most small displacement engines can hardly benefit from it).
Lighting
neon and LED lighting.
Super blue or super bright Xenon headlamps (although Xenon headlights are now gaining in popularity on many new cars).
Euro-style taillights (also known as "altezza" style lights or "altezzas")

I got altezzas, but how would that make me a ricer? It's not making the performance of the car look better than it really is. I just like how they look better than the stock ones. I also got xenon headlight bulbs because the stock bulbs light up for shit in my area. We have very little lighting on the suburban backroads here and I needed to put in brighter bulbs to see through the streets.
Oh well, whatever.

IMO, altezzas are rice. NOw if you look at a car like the Lexus 300 or 330, it looks nice as crap, but thats becuase the style of the car includes that. With the ones ppl put on hondas, and yes, even Tiburons they look stupid alone.
Thats why i went with the smoked tails. They look nice, subtle and sleek. They arent all flashy with nothing to compliment them.

OK, it's funny and all, but some of it I do not agree with. Lowering the car? How is that rice? you can take U turns at 50mph for chrissake!
my definition of ricer is the modification of cruddy vehicles depreciating the value of the car byt attaching pointless cheap accessories rather than gaining value of it and modifying the vehicle from a true racing perspective.
cardbon fiber hoods? they eliminate close to 50 pounds depending on the hood. they are dent resistant... how is that ricer? maybe on a 1988 CRX but not on a Supra!!
Ah, and lemme tell you who fried up this rice! street racing fasion was once asian! it was actually serious! the blasted immature ghetto low budget took it over and turned it into ridicule horseraddish. sometimes i feel dumb even driving my car in my area because of it.
