I suggest you get used to resting your foot on the deadpedal. Not only is it a great place to brace yourself when cornering, but even the smallest amount of pressure on the clutch pedal can accerate it's wear and cause it to prematurely wear out.

Remember, the deadpedal is a motorsports derived piece.. there is a reason race cars have them

Yeah, that's why I implied that resting on the clutch is a bad habit. I'd say over half the people with manual trannys drive that way, and I don't know why we're taught that. Almost everyone that I know does it at least. Even the older folks who should know better. It can be a hard habit to kick though.

there is a reason I was still on the original clutch when I killed my tib.. 130,000+ miles. I never rested my foot on the clutch or dragged it unnecessarily

i remember the day i bought my car, i drove it out to a friend's farm to show it off, and on the way out i put cruise control on, but i guess i hit the button on the dash to turn it off, and when i was trying to put cruise on on the way home, the button was in the blind spot behind the steering wheel, and I was getting so mad because i thought my brand new car was breaking tongue.gif, then like 2 days later i saw the button and realized i was just an idiot tongue.gif
