I think public assistance and welfare are a joke. I'm willing to bet 3 out of 4 people who get it, are capable of getting jobs but are too lazy to do it and are taking advantage of the system and tax payers. We should stop all welfare and ONLY give it to people who have medical proof that they are unable to get a job, or because they were laid off. Either that, or only give it to them for a short period of time, until they get back on their feet.

^ Agreed. I worked at a grocery store when I was 16/17. There were so many families that would come in and spend $100+ in food stamps, and leave in a nice Trans Am, navigator on 20s, or some other $30,000+ vehicle.
On the other side, we would see people come in and cash $1 food stamp for $0.25 gum several times just to get enough change back to buy a pack of cigarettes. They were the people who really didn't have any money.
If you're going to pay me to stay home and do nothing, I'm gonna do it. And I'll pad my pockets with drug money while I'm at it. It caters to those without legitimate jobs.

And people who are on food stamps, should go through regular IRS & police audits in person, just in case they are selling drugs. If someone is on public assistance, but then you see them rolling around in a new SUV with blingtastic 20's on it...red flag and time to investigate right away.

nah... you can't do that, cuz then it's called profiling and we'll get the ACLU involved.
Which brings me to another point. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton really piss me off. They make millions off of other people. They do nothing except crave media attention and make money off of other people. IMO They contribute as much to this society as Paris Hilton.

You cant blame them if the gov't is gunna pay them to sit on their ass all day they be a fool not to take the money. My plan is: 1)You should be on welfare for no more than a year and half 2)You can't have more than 3 kids (I worked at a grocery store and there is a strong relation between the # of kids and welfare) and 3)If your on welfare and dont have a job you must do some kind of work for the gov't in return for the handout (pick up trash on roads, janitor for public buildings, etc.).

Don't get me started on Jackson and Sharpton. There one of the main reasons Limbaugh is not in the group to buy the St. Louis Rams.

It varies by jurisdiction. Here in Washington we never had a Castle Doctrine law on the books. It is however currently being considered.
