i went out to my car today to get my Sirius radio so i could listen to the football game and my DVD/CD player was gone. ripped out of the dash

they just unplugged the harness from the back of the radio..to bad for them you can only get the harness from the factory(Jensen/Adiovox)

i already had the state police come and make a report. he told me i should call Jensen and ask them if anyone calls for a harness for that model to contact the state police...since that model was discontinued a while ago. Jensen (9510TS)

i believe my insurance should cover it. i have a 500 deductible for comprehension

my question is how much will the insurance Co give me for it...will they pay the MSRP? if so its going to be $899

and is there anything else i can do?

 

if you have a 500 deduct for comp, you will pay, simple as that.

 

but will the insurance co give me money for the radio?

 

depreciation is gonna own you on this. you'd be lucky to see any money out of it

 

Do you have receipts showing your purchase and the price of the stolen parts?

Do you have pictures/video proving you ever had it installed in your vehicle?

Unless you do, insurance is assuming you're being honest by claiming an $800 sirius radio was stolen from your car. What's to say you ever had one?

I hope they don't screw you over. Who is your insurance company? Please let us know how this turns out, so others may be able to learn from this as well.

it was not the sirius radio it was the jensen dvd/cd player that was stolen. they left my protable sirius radio sitting in the charger. they also left the radar detector the was on the dash with the cord wrapped around it.

my insurance Co is state farm

i do have a cell phone picture of it playing a dvd in my car. all u can see is whats on the screen and the clock in the tib. in the background.

and as for the harness i was looking around and talked with local shops here (enormis car audio, empire car audio, elite auto) all audio shops for cars..they said the only way to get a harness for it is to specially order it. there is only one harness that is compatible with it. the model number on it is VM9510TS the TS has a different harness from the VM9510.

so what im saying is if anyone sees this on ebay let me know so i can contact the cops about it.

calleed the insurance co today. filed that claim and they lady we talked to said that i should get the difference a the price and the deductable...ill update as i hear more
