Call to all Catholics
I was born and raised Roman Catholic, but I don't practice or believe in it the least bit. I don't think I should have to be force-fed a religion just because my family is.
Regardless, the man has been around the world several times and has seen enough things in his long life to consider his life successful and well-lived. I feel bad for him because there are just problems with his health left and right. He has a huge heart, for several reasons, so losing him would be a tragic loss. Even more so, he has several million people that look up to him from ALL religions. It would be interesting to see a younger face in the Pope chair though. I'm actually interested in seeing how the process for choosing a new one goes.

From this post on, I will begin warning comments such as UltraTib's first. Such topics should remain in a Members Only thread and left for debate. No low blows such as that will be allowed in the forums I moderate (and I moderate a large percentage of the forums). I have had multiple members contact me in response to UltraTib's post.
I only have one thing to say and warn me if you want..... If you dont want someone's opinion (opposite from yours) on something and you are too weak to be able to look past it then dont post at all. It would be like posting up pics of your ride and wanting opinions BUT only wanting them if they are good. Sorry BUDDY, but the world does not work like that. DEAL with it you fkin pansies.
^ Yup. Exactly.
But alas, this isn't a free country, your not a free person, and "free speech" ends as soon as you open your mouth.
However, I think this would make a good 'debate' topic for members only..I would much like to hear people's opinion on religion in general. As long as it doesn't turn into a "F*ck you catholic ragheads!" type stuff..

Why is it that when someone mentions religion everyone that doesn't believe gets mad? If you have got a problem with someone asking for Christians to pray keep it off the forums!
Nowhere in that post did he ask for opinions. He stated that the Pope wasn't doing hot and asked that you pray to him. Not you specifically since the post is titled "Call to all Catholics".

The Pontiff isn't doing so hot. He has been given his last rites, and could be on his way out. Please say a prayer for him

He referenced catholics..not christians..
catholocism is a branch of christianity..except they dissect the bible and take out everything they don't like.

Why don't we all just stop talking about this, keep this on topic and move the off-topic discussion to members only.

Your post lacked intelligence and was found disrespectful and unnecessary by several people. We have a button, located on every post with the label, "Report Bad Post." When you click on it, it will send a PM/e-mail to moderators and admins letting them know to check it out. We don't get many of these e-mails, but I personally received 4 that day, all regarding your post. This forum has several members who aren't usually bothered by meaningless and rediculous posts, but when something is said that obviously disturbs several people, the moderators and admins will ake action.

I was asked to review the post and take necessary action, and a few members gave their opinion. I most likely never would have seen the post, because it was deleted by another moderator before I could review it. The members of this community obviously felt it was wrong, and that is why I posted what I did.
I didn't warn you, just simply stated that we should keep such comments out of some posts, and possibly post them in the Members Only forum, which can and should be used for serious topics such as the one you brought about.
I am not Catholic, yet I am a Christian. I am not the one who warned you, but I do feel that beause of the content of your post, a warning was asked for. I also agree completely with Java; there was no need for your post. If you can't contribute in a constructive way to a thread, any thread, you shouldn't post.

every religion does that, not just catholics.
I am catholic, not strong, i'm a strong Irish/Catholic but my boss actually know the pope personally so they're very devestated right now. No matter who it is, the pope, or the guy next door, it sucks to be in that situation. You should pray for everyone, whether catholic or not

Not every branch of Christianity does that. Not intentionally anyways. But that is the nature of man, all we can do is strive to do it right and learn from our mistakes. But, this is not the place for a christianity/religion debate. I am not Catholic, but I do know that the Pope is reverred by all Catholics so I feel for them.

Nope. There are plenty of Christian denominations that strive to follow the Bible as closely as they can, not pervert it or disregard core values entirely. If you look at the current catholic positions on many issues, there's little in common with Christian values.
That said, the current Pope has done a lot of good, and he was an admirable man.
