If the Mayens can predict the world ending then how the hell did they not see Cortez coming to kill them. I mean really?! We can predict the future hundreds of years from now but not three years from now.

You're not very religious are you! Religion depends on belief and commitment. There are many people who have had metaphysical experiences which is one of the reasons it has persevered for so many thousands of years. To scientists that sounds crazy because they can only explain things based on what we understand on earth with gravity, skies, trees, and oceans. I'm not advocating for either side, but try explaining why YOU are YOU.
