Default Blast in Texas

http://www.cnn.com/2013/04/18/us/tex...html?hpt=hp_t1

Cliffs
  • There is no "out of control" chemical release, police say
  • There's been a small amount of looting reported, police say; several firefighters are missing
  • Nails and other debris will pose safety risks for investigators
  • The ATF sends a team to assist

What do you guys think? Criminal or just a bad accident?

Theory is the natural gas they used to make fertilizer was burning from a ruptured pipe. The volunteer firefighters were never going to put it out. Then the ammonium nitrate went off. My guess is those firefighters will never be found except maybe some badges and larger bone pieces.

Anyone know a reputable charity that is working with the families of the first responders who fell? Based on how bad it was they called in the unit for the National Guard that specializes in search and rescue and not the infantry units like mine. Id like to do something to help. They have found 12 dead so far, the majority are those volunteers that went into a battle they could never win, but they tried. Many are being credited for saving other lives, like in the nursing home. According to one report, I am semi local as well, they were the ones who urged the old folks home to move people to the other side of the building and started some sort of evacuation. True heroes, in my opinion.

They are still treating it like a crime scene so the chance it wasn't just an accident is still on the table. The only reason I said North Korea was the fact he pointed in the vague area of central texas a few weeks ago as a target. There was a fire that broke out closer to Houston, but was contained before something could blow up, the West explosion, and a tank farm went up in Oklahoma within a short period of each other. Sort of odd timing.

Regardless if it was an accident or arson, the devastation is horrible. I hope those that lost family or their property find some sort of peace.
