Bad News - Update on G/F - Updated 4/28/04
I am so happy to hear that she is doing better.
Damn man, its hard to read about what she has been through.
I can understand a little of what you are going though from my own experiences.
I am still praying for the best for both of you.
How come some of the best people in the world, have to have the worst stuff happen to them?
All my thoughts and wishes.

Brandon, glad to hear that everything's 'tip top'. Let her know that she's got a whole buncha RD-ers rootin' for her! laugh.gif
btw- you said UPS store... you guys wouldn't happened to have met at the UPS store while you were shipping or receiving something for the majikTib, have you? In other words, did you meet her as a result of shipping/receiving something for your car? (not to steal away the tone of the thread, but I just put two and two together and was curious)

No No No.... good thinkin' though. She used to work at TCBY. I began to really like ice cream and would go in there 2-3 times a day. shock.gif That's how I went broke (that stuff's expensive). So once the money ran out, I asked her out. TCBY closed down and the owner's offered her a job at their other store (Mailboxes Etc. which is now the UPS Store). So no, I didn't meet her AT the UPS Store, but she now works there.

Chrons disease is permanent, you have to take medicine to keep it stabilized. Correct me if I am wrong. Glad to hear that she is doing whell majic!
Java is right. The disease will always be there. It's sort of like cancer right now, because it's in "remission." The medicine keeps it from flaring up and attacking her again.
Java is VERY right... as far as I know.. I am one of only a handful of cases my doc has seen that can control it strictly through diet and attitude.
I am just still very happy she is doing better...

Yeah, my stepmom suffers from that and she had this for a very long while it was hard when she had but with medecine and diet now she is a lot better, still lives sometimes has pain in the stomach but very very rarely. Disease sucks as life is alread hard as it is we don't need... But man, everything will go well, God know you peeps have a lot to live and experiment in this life together, so he will make everything possible for you 2. things like this happen only to make you stronger

Well, it is 7:05 a.m. right now, on April 28th. It is my mine and my girlfriend's 3 year 8month anniversary. I just got home from Vanderbilt hospital.
I arrived there at 6p.m. last night and left the Emergency Room waiting area at 6:15am this morning. 12 LONG hours.
My girlfriend gets there @ 5:30pm
My girlfriend sits in the waiting room until 10:10pm and finally gets a room
A doctor finally comes in and orders a CT scan, and is setup to occur @ 2am
An Emergency arrives at the hospital and her CT scan is postponed until 3am
CT Scan occurs @ 3am and takes 10 minutes (at most).
At 4:30 Radiology finally says, "something looks wrong." They think it can either be a fistula, absess, tumor, or another Crohn's attack.
At 5:30 the Head Radiology man comes in and looks at the CT Scan results, and pretty much determined it's another Crohn's attack, in a different location, lower in the abdomen than the last one.
So I just spent 12 hours at the hospital, no sleep, and find out that my girlfriend is going to have to go through all the same crap she went through the past 4 months. This is rediculous. She's currently battling with Collection Agencies and Three Hospitals that are sending her bills. Insurance is only paying 60-70% of the bills, and she's accrued well over $150,000 so far. TennCare is a service provided in Tennessee to help those with Medical problems who aren't able to pay their bills. To state it simply (not being racist) she can't get it because she isn't a minority. It's pathetic. I've found/met so many people recently who are on TennCare, living for free and getting $150/month in food stamps, and not working (not because they can't, but because they don't have to). While my girlfriend is trying to find a way to keep from filing bankruptcy and trying to find out how she could possibly pay off all of these bills.
Well, guess it looks like another possible surgery. We have to wait until some Crohn's specialists come to look at the tests and determine where, how big, what kind, and how to treat whatever is going on. Alright, it's 7:00 in the morning and I'm going to bed now. I'm exhausted, starving, and in a daze. I'm surprised I didn't wreck on the 30minute drive home during morning rush hour traffic. I will report more as I know.
For all those who have been IMing me during the last day while I forgot to put an away message up, I'll get back to you later. If you need me, and it's important, E-Mail me to make sure I get it. BSander3@utk.edu

Shit man this really blows...
I am very sorry to hear all of this. This disease really is annoying. Hopefully they saw wrong and everything is ok. I really think the medical system sucks in the states, here in canada, all you need is health card and they pay what the hell ever you need. In the states, if you are sick and poor, you cannot be helped... Move to Canada we will take care of her, and ethnie dont matter to us we like everybody!
Anyway im very sorry to hear that man, and i really hope things get better in any way it could. And for yourself, you are a direct close influence and prolly is one of the most important persone out there for your G/F, so make sure you get good rest and eat right so you are in top notch shape to cheer her up, you are there for that man, just be positive, itll be ok, god bless both of you and the families.

Sorry to hear about that man. Keep your head up, she will need you through this. I feel for you on the insurance point, that's one reason I am staying in the military.
