Well, there's a used rifle show on October 27 that I want to attend. I plan on buying some used rifle for under $200. I also plan to go on my first hunting trip. What some things I should buy first for my first hunting trip? What kind of cheap rifles do you guys recommend? I was planning a single shot rifle or something. Please help?

you might want to raise your limit to 300 and look for something in like a savage .270. there are several states that have a minimum caliber size you can hunt deer with. best thing to do is look at your state wildlife and parks website.
do you by chance taken your hunter safety training? you will need that.
I hunt strictly archery, but the rules are the same.

well i use a 30 30 rifle remington which is a great rifle and does the job. that is what i used for my frist rifle and still use today. for used guns i dont really buy, but make sure that the barrel is in good shape, also that all the parts inside the gun is well cleaned..

I've never hunted with a rifle, I only go with a shotgun.. OHIO laws...But if your looking into single shots an H&R is a good brand. I have a few and all of them shoot within a moa at 100 yards. Anything above a 270 would be good. Ive "heard" of people shooting them with 22-250's and killing them. Just aim for the organs and you should be alright. Glass is probably your best investment to. That should run as much as the rifle.

Well guys, I went to another direction. I bought a CVA Muzzleloader rifle from a friend for $50. It includes everything including powder to get ready. I hunt in December; the Muzzleloading season. I'll get me a buck!
