Is there a legitimate reason why people need more than 1 bottle? Ive seen a civic and a Lancer (non Evo) at a local car show that both had 2 bottles in their trunks. And there was an Eclipse that had 3 bottles.
Is this primarily for show purposes or is it possible that people spray a ton and go through that much nitrous where they need more than one bottle?

No. It adds 20 lbs to the car per bottle + hoses + mounts + heaters. Anyone concerned with weight reduction would run a single bottle and have spares for replacement. You can't use a whole 10lb bottle in a single 1/4th mile run.
Almost 100 percent sure, if you seen these setups at a show, more than likely they were for show also, look at the intake and look for nitrous nozzels or a tapped fuel line!
