Finally Equal Length Tubular Headers! Part Ii
It doesn't matter what that dyno says guys. Do you remember Sonic? The dude I bought the RD2 from? Well, he had some crazy header designed, but the guy wanted to charge me 1000 bucks minimum to get it in Stainless. Well, when I bought the car, it came turbo, but he Sonic (Alex) gave me the old header as well (non stainless). After APE modified the header a bit, and after Bill paid for dynos, we have a shot at getting it produced. Because Bill has worked with this manufacturer on new headers in the past, there was a door openned to us, and with his help, the factory said they'd take the header I had and make it out of stainless. Just before this, the header was Dyno tested on my car, and we got some BASE, BASEline numbers. But remember, it had different material, different bends (very similar) and much lower quality welds, etc. So speed things up about a year, and that produced a prototype that you guys all saw in my vids and pics. That prototype was never dynoed, and for good reason. If the production piece varies even just slightly, then we know it'll need its own new dyno run. So we're waiting for the final production pieces to show up, I'll test them again, and this time we'll get them on the APE dyno to spend the whole day adding parts like exhaust, intake, and other parts on and off the car to see the results in combo with this awesome new header.
So be patient my friends, it's coming in a matter of days now. Now for anyone who paid for the Hotshot header with me, I'll buy your new header if you want it, or use some of my profits from the new header sales to cash you out. I didn't want to post that in these forums, but I think it'll keep things straight if you know all the info about the header at once. Basically, where Hotshot made empty promises wasted over a year of my time, and my beautiful paintjob sitting on a lift outside in direct sunlight the whole time, our new manufacturer actually made this happen this time. Same header, same end result, only at a fraction of the cost. The HS headers would have been at least twice as much, if not more, and they'd be in very low quantity runs. This way we'll have more than we can get rid of off the bat, and when we start to get low, that'll be a good indicator that a second run is in store. This means our manufacturer wins, FlyRyde and KFX win, and above all else, you guys will have a great deal on the best header to date, and thus, you'll win too wink1.gif

lol ^^^ yeah, cuz thats what im sure they did R & D for, so they could be painted.. or maybe they tested it out when they were doing the dynos/fitment.. lmao.gif
and good stainless headers never look like crap, they just get some nice color to them from the heat.

1) How thick is the pipe? -- I guess it has been said that the metal is thick enough to not buzz, that answers my question I guess.
2) What is the diameter of the pipe?
3) Will this include a matching flex pipe for OUR RDs? Or will we have to have a custom flex pipe made?</div>

No flex pipe off the bat. I'll test them on my RDs when I get the first production piece. I'll also take measurements on my prototype header I took pics and vids of. They should be EXACTLY the same as my proto, but until I do a comparison of information and measuremens, I wont be able to varify that. The most important part of all of this, is that the first orders get sent out super quick, not cause it'll boost sales, but because tons of people will be able to add to the info we have on these. We'll have tons of pics, and some awesome quotes about how much everyone loves em smile.gif I believe the collector comes with a 2.25" flange, but the pipe before the flange is at least 2.5" so you can open it up (bore it out). I'll be doing that to mine. I also have a ton of left over 2.5" stainless pipe from stupid Hotshot, and we can use that to hack up some flex pipes later if you guys feel it a neccessity.
