to answer about "what do you think of the car"...going from driving a highly modified 300zx, with suspension work also, to driving a bone stock tiburon, it's night and day difference. my daily driver is a 03 suzuki XL7- it's a BLAST to daily drive. the tiburon rarely gets used, since we have a 15 month old baby girl, the suv is our primary vehicle. so driving the tib is quite fun to go out on a nice cruise. she doesn't like to "get on it" at all, and yells at me if i go over 3k rpms. but a car that isn't driven often should see the whole rpm range to get everything lubed up properly.

only problems we've had with the car is the (recalled) cracked exhaust manifold. got that replaced for free, along with a new cat since it's all one piece. since the mani cracked it fouled the o2 sensor, so we replaced that also. i've never felt such a difference adding an intake onto a car/truck as i did on the tib. i'm trying to convince her to do the 1.8 ecu mod. i think i'm going to do the cam mod with out telling her when i do her timing belt. and just tell her the timing was off or something wink1.gif i wont do that, but i'll show her all the info/feedback from people who have done it with NO harming. and i DOUBT dealership would notice off hand anyhow.

these pictures aren't organized, but they were taken from when i painted some parts and installed the strut bar and intake.

that's a big box for one fog light insert.

I'm glad to see someone so excited about their tib.

Do you have any additional plans for it?

i'm not finished with the intake, i'm going to be swapping the blue couplings with black, and the gf is still deciding if she wants me to paint the piping. so right now it's staying until her mind is made up.

i was painting other parts, and that box will be used again for other parts. there's about 500k worth of tools in the garage, i'd rather be safe than sorry. smile.gif

next plan: rear strut bar, 1.8 cam, do timing belt/ect, HD front lip, paint other things in the engine bay.

looks like its in great condition.

theres another cheap 40$ ebay intake thats an AEM knockoff, which is a much better intake ( gets air from the fender which is cold as opposed to warm engine bay air)

wow, i woul dhave never thought the HD lip would have caught on so well.

well i'm waiting to get a stillen lip for my Z, and i've been planning on the HD lip on that for about 14-16 months now. i've had it all planned, but haven't had the extra funds to spend on any body mods, so it's been on the back burner.

i'm not worried about getting the coldest air, as i'll be making an enclosed vent/box that the cone sits in and is directed straight to the driver side vent on the bumper. i'm not one that likes to "follow the crowd" so i'm going to be different and make my own way to get the coldest air.

the bottom of the engine bay is cooler than people really think, and it's not even a 2hp difference.
