I am a new fish in the shark tank with a 1998 green tib. that I just love and am starting to trick out, but I want to do it right! If the vielside kits are so well produced how come you cant find anything on the net except cheap immitations?

You have to go to a licenced dealer to get the real thing. Still around $1,500 - $1,800 I believe. If you want a knock off STAY AWAY from the e-bay ones. The knock off from Bodykits.com usually has decent fitment. thicker fiberglass too. That's about $600. For the first gen however, there is no real veilside. You have to get a knock off and i believe all first gen VS style kits have fitment issues.

Yep, I'm not a fan of VS myself. Welcome to the site and good luck with your decision! You can do a search to find old posts on this subject if you like.

I don't like the Veilside for the first gens. It has a big ledge on the top of the bumper that looks way out of place. I'd suggest a different kit for the first gens.

Also, a lot of people don't realize how low the Veilside body kit is. REDZ, Java, Viper, and others got to see mine @ NOPI... it's pretty low, and I have factory springs. You will scrape, you will crack, and you will repair your bumper if you get a Veilside. That's all there is to it. Heh... I actually got stuck downtown 2 weeks ago on a one way street. They were doing construction and the road was so torn up I could get down it without ripping my bumper off. I was barely able to pull to the side to let the 30 cars behind me go, then I had to back about 1 mile on a one way street to get out of there. Took about 45 minutes total through all the B.S.

I love the way it looks on my car, but I honestly would have done it differently had I known all that I know now.

Oh yeah... and welcome to the site. How did you find us?

Veilside does not make a body kit for the 1996-1999 body style Tiburons, that's why you can't find one.

If you want to let us know how the fitment is, you could buy one from me at FlyRyde.com I sell the whole kit for 600, plus shipping. Let me get your address if you want a quote on shipping. I'm trying to get some tibby stuff loaded finally. Thanks ahead.

cold_steal... since you're new I'll `catch you up a bit.

Chris (blacktibs) is working on getting a bunch of huge aftermarket support for us right now. He got vertical doors from Vertical Doors, Inc. and he's working with HotShot to get some headers and strut bars for us. He's a very trustworthy and reliable guy on this site, and he's starting a new online store, FlyRyde.com. Don't be afraid to buy some stuff from him, he's proven himself dozens of times over.

Also, www.KSpec.com has some good aftermarket parts if you're interested.
