welcome!

sorry, but i really don't like those rims or tails either..

also, that cold air intake is not the one you want. you'll probably want to get an AEM cold air intake, they locate the air filter behind the front foglight which draws in MUCH cooler air than the one you have (you'll actually NOTICE a difference, at least i did). plus i see you have an automatic, that intake didn't fit very well with the automatic did it? lol..they're made for 5 spds, its harder to squeeze the filter under the battery with the big auto tranny in the way.

good job on gettin 4.0 mang cool.gif

also, your headlights/foglights look great! your engine bay is really CLEAN as well, people like to see that, props smile.gif

btw, the next upgrade i would do to your car would be exchange those rims. the ones you have on are really heavy, so they HURT YOUR PERFORMANCE (big no-no), and they look kinda ugly in my opinion..(another no-no, cuz i think i have pretty good taste laugh.gif ) look into some lightweight 17" wheels, they will make your car look, handle, and overall DRIVE a LOT better. look at some pics of tibs with 17s, it will probably be your favorite upgrade you do.

i like that you said you like to work on your car by yourself, that's an A+ in my book. just a heads up, i'm sure you've been looking or at least thinking about a header/exhaust system for your car? or some way to make it go faster? before you buy one search around this site and maybe even make a thread telling us, because there are undoubtedly things you will NEED to know before you start installing that stuff. smile.gif

btw, if you want to remove that pinstripe, you can grab a credit card and a blow dryer, heat the stripe up with the blow dryer and carefully peel it off with the edge of the credit card fing02.gif

once again, welcome!

pinstripe needs to go. as zoned said, park in the sun, wait, credit card will take it right off without a trace.

rims? gotta go. i'm sorry, but they just do not work, with any car. sorry if i sound mean but they make your car look like it's selling ice-cream. tails have got to go or be blackened out.

i think you'll get the hang of it once you see what some of our members did to their cars. some really cool cars here. anyways, hello and good luck!

my car didn't come with a pinstripe 02.gif I guess that's why I like it

I would suggest trying to sell the chrome wheels. Anyone with a Honda can pretty much fit them on there I believe. Just make sure their lug pattern is 4 x 114.3 or check to see if the wheels are a universal 4-lug pattern (8 holes). Afterwards, but some 16" silver wheels or gunmetal with a polished lip. Maybe even 17's. Our cars aren't meant to have 18's or 19's on them, though you could if you really wanted to, but it doesn't look right.

Post some pictures of your engine. I'm interested in seeing the intake. Might be good to spend a little of that money in the right place and go for the AEM CAI or something with similar design. Don't worry, hang around here and we'll really get your hands dirty and REALLY get you "working" on your own car (installing headers, exhaust, automatic window relays, intake manifolds, etc.)

Please don't take any of the criticism as hate. We're trying to help you and point you in the right direction. So many teenagers now seem to want all show and no go (I did at one time). It's great to improve the look of the Tib, but you need to make sure the money you spent is worth it. You can get some nice chrome rims for cheap, but you can also sell them and get something nicer with not so much bling. Hell, I got a set of my old wheels for $300 WITH brand new tires because a Honda guy needed the cash. I pimped out those 17" silver Katana Racing wheels for a year or so before I could buy the Racing Harts I have now.

Well I see Im not the youngest of us all any more! Perfect. Good work on the tib dude shes lookin good. Im gonna be 17 next month and Im just abit ahead of you. All my mods so far are mostly go fast stuff. Intake, header, exhaust, coolant line change thingy and optima red top. Ive painted my door panels and stuff under the hood aswell. Fer some nice show I recommend so vacuum line replacment in your color and some paint . Really goes along way....everyone here will nag on that as rice but... Also search the site fer "free" mods helped me alot with an easy intro to tib tuning. Good luck!

Welcome to the site. You'll get hassled sometimes, but it's only because we want you to look good and not make stupid mistakes that soooo many of us have. =)

Make good use of the Search function. It contains a wealth of valuable information.

Your car looks good. Alot of people don't like tons of chrome. Chrome done right looks good. Unfortunately, I have to agree with everyone else, the rims have got to go. A little too... out there for the tibby. You'll enjoy more performance oriented, lighter rims on your car. 16"s or 17"s most defintately. 17s are the most standard size on rims. 18's mess with your speedo, are heavy and get damaged much easier than 17s will.

You'll enjoy the Strut Tower Bars. Good choice for a first performance/suspension mod. Next should be Lowering Springs then Anti-Swaybar if you can afford the anti-sway bars. Then you'll be sportin' an awesome handling ride. (Make sure you get some decent tires to hold traction on the ground too.)

Tip for the Strut Tower Bars(STB): Lift the Car some when installing them. Don't raise the car off the ground, but take some of the weight off the wheels, then install the bar and lower it again. This will put a good amount of tension on the STBs and really help stiffen it. But be careful, cause if you put too much tension on the bar in the front it's going to bend it upwards and you won't be able to close your hood. *laugh* (Been there, done that!)

AEM Intake most definately. Sounds good and gives best overall HP gain over all other intake systems.

Once again, welcome to the site!
