Eh, i think its a nice discussion, i dont see any harshness left over from the initial fireball over there...
i vote nay, as long as it stays pleasant...

Well its just getting redundant, and it has been far from pleasant, the only reason people arent biting eachothers heads off is b/c they want the topic to supposedly look friendly. honestly, read into the posts.. you all know what is being implyed...

Actually the only one i see thats really upset and out of hand about the topic is you.
Redundant maybe, but thats just because certain people keep saying the same things trying to argue their point.
Hell i dont care if the thread stays open or not, as long as theres no more tension between AR and RD.

I think theres a fine line between rice and looking good. Such as faded paint and you repaint the car. Yes you could have spent it on the engine, but you dont want your car to be ulgy (so repainting the car isnt rice). I think rice is anything that makes your car look better but makes it slower, or makes it look faster and doesnt improve the performance at all. Angel eyes look good, they arent rice IMO maybe in others though.
I was once told the only thng ricey about exhaust note is if you lose performance in order to make it quieter or stop a slight buzz.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (REDZMAN @ Nov 29 2006, 07:25 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Now this shows your thinking. Car Shows ARE a Motorsport. What's the difference? Why do you see cars that have the performance at a Car Show too? I'll tell you why, it's because they are well rounded and can do more than just go fast. Motorsport = Sports involving motors.</div>
So..what sport is it? Sport = activity. I'm an athlete, and a professional one at that. Please do not insult me by saying that parking a car and winning a trophy is a sport. That's like saying a baseball card show is a sport. There's a reason the word "Show" is in it wink1.gif
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Nascar isn't anything in my opinion. What skill is there? Wow, I can drive 230MPH and turn left for 4 hours.
WOOHOO!
Now that's my opinion, but it's still a Motorsport.</div>
I really hope you are joking. If not, try going out on one of those ovals with 40 other vultures all doing 200+ mph, bumping, banging, muscling the car through tough turns, and people stealing the air off your rear aerodynamics, and your back end threatening to kick out. Then learning to "read" the air, and draft off the car ahead of you, knowing exactly when to pass, etc. All this while following strict guidelines that make the cars equal. You ask where the skill is, I ask where the skill is NOT at.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>So are the folks on your site just morons or what? I again bring up the whole "Take off that horrible bodykit" statement. The entire body on that car was stock, plus a 747 wing. So the fact that you guys don't know what is stock or aftermarket on our cars gives you the right to call it rice?</div>
The only weak argument I can make is it's not possible to know every car out there. Again..weak argument, but that's all I got LOL
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>That's called street racing, which we do not discuss or condone in any manner here. Rice does not equal street racing. A lot of street racers are ricers, but LED lights in my dash don't make me break the law.</div>
Well, rice is the car they are driving that I described, ricer is the driver. Ricer is def an attitude and state of mind. Most of the guys on here seem cool, I don't see too many ricer attitudes smile.gif

Well, I'm tired of the thread, and angry at it at too, I'm just holding my composure.
Don't like our cars or what we do to them, then leave.

I hope you're not refering to me, because I have much more important things to be angry about. You don't need to read between any lines on my posts. What I said is what I mean. If you want me to clarify something, please ask. You can ask wheels, I don't beat around the bush, I'm up front and straightforward smile.gif (which has gotten me into much trouble with several ricers on our site...he'll tell you all about that I"m sure LOL)

Dude, I know how hard it is, as an import owner myself, to find an exhaust system that isn't wide enough to fire a cannonball out of, or annoy people. If it's a full catback at minimum, I usually don't say anything. It's tough trying to find a normal type of performance exhaust.

Dude. I've said several times I like the tib. More so the new ones. I don't think either of us have said otherwise.

Exactly. Tell me that a Car Show isn't an activity.
Go ahead.
I told you. It's a Motorsport.
Don't believe me? Check the Speed Network.
Oh yeah, car shows all the time.
What? Car shows often have drag racing, auto crossing, and drifting all in them too? OMFG NO!!!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Please do not insult me by saying that parking a car and winning a trophy is a sport.</div>
Woah, you come here insulting our cars, and specificaly the some mild modifications I made to mine, and ask not to be insulted?
What sport are you a professional in? I'd like to know so I can talk to the governing body and have you checked for steroids, you are acting like you've got no common sence.
I've never been to a car show where you drive in, park the car, and win a trophy. Not one. I've seen folks prepping for months before a big car show, installing parts, making sure everything works right and, gasp, looks good. I've personally driven across country to meet up with good friends for car shows, and cleaning your car after a 1200 mile drive for a show is not a picnic.
Sorry if I like to have my car go fast, and look good at the same time, but someone's gotta have some class.

I'm not joking at all. NASCAR is a frigging joke. Drag racing is a joke in my opinion (LOOK AT ME MA! I CAN GO STRAIGHT REALLY FAST!)
Show me some F1 or Grand Prix racing, there is where the skill is, the others are just endurance tests and survival of the least stupid.
And for the last GODDAMNED time, stop quoting the post DIRECTLY ABOVE YOURS.
Matter of fact, I forgot for a second, I'm an admin of this site.

I'm tired of the arguing, and I'm tired of defending something I don't have to.

BTW, no more of these RICE threads, we've had them in the past and it just pisses everyone off.
Let them have some fun with their car and help direct them in a Tasty Rice manner.
