I dunno about that....

The extra hassle is well worth the $200 or so you'll see for labor on that. Maybe more.

Plus it's fun!

That's what this 5hit is all about man!

You can do the headers on your own. Just go to a muffler shop and have them make adjustments as they may have to cut your exhaust..depending on the header you get. You might also have to add some wire to the O2 senor like I did. You might want to have a friend around who has done this before. Once you see it done, you'll realize how easy it is.

I can't stress this enough. Good info Cyber!

He's right, you won't fully understand until it's done.

Snow is NOT a worry with a CAI, only deep ass puddles are.

Stay away from puddles, and you don't need a bypass valve.

my first mod was header, then cai, then rside ss.

so really it just depends on what you feel like your up to. the cai took me about 45 minutes only due to the fact that I'm very precise and wanted it all to line up just right and all my clamps to be attached the same way for easy removal next time. (all of the bolts on top for easy access with a rachet)

the header was about a 5 or 6 hour install, when you plan on doing that you'll need a couple special tools. (oxygen sensor socket, breaker bar or impact wrench, A TON OF PB BLASTER). I didn't have a impact wrench at the time so I used the breaker bar plus muscled up little brother method... hehe, he helps me with all the tib projects. laugh.gif

it's all about having fun, get a friend, brother, etc. to help and make a day/ afternoon out of it. if you don't enjoy this stuff then.... I guess you could pay someone... but to me that kinda defeats the purpose. laugh.gif

Planning is a must. Like other people, it took me 2 days and about 4 friends to get my header on. It is getting the stock exhaust off that is a biotch!!

I was trying to save the stock stuff but in the end I used a sawzall and grinder to get it off. It still was not worth paying someone for labor though!

I have not played with the exhaust yet.. but the 1.8 cam install only took less than an hour from the time I started removing the bolts on the cam cover to the time I started the car up...

That's a great mod too.

People never think of the cam.
