Whelp, I just finished the resonator removal and throttle body bypass mods, and took it for a test drive.. Works like a charm. Definitely some extra power there... Not a lot, but its noticeable.

After each mod you do, reset your ECU.

(if you don't know how, search for "reset ecu" fing02.gif)

Yep, made sure to do that smile.gif

I wish I had known that when my dealer tried to explain to me that they had to reset the ECU after changing the spark plugs (implying that it was not something I could do on my own)

Ok, now that I've taken out the resonator box, I feel confident enough to move on to the next question.

How do I shoehorn a Santa Fe V6 into the Tiburon?

Just kidding.

Do as suggested by the other members.

Now that you've done the simple stuff like resonator removal and throttle bypass stuff, I'd consider getting an AEM cold air intake. You'll find that a huge majority of the members prefer it over the Injen or any other intake for our cars. After that, I'd suggest headers and cat-back exhaust. Chris (blacktibs - a member of this site) is currently working on getting some HotShot Headers produced for us. They're in production and testing phases now. You can see that under the FlyRyde section; a few of us put up several hundred dollars to get the project underway, and hopefully the finish product will be available soon. I'd start saving up for that.

CAI - New ~$200 on shop.HyundaiPerformance.com. Definitely a great investment. I would do this next

Headers - Roughly $400-500... stay away from OBX or SS Autochrome headers. Proven to be poor quality. KSpec.com also has some that you can have shipped from Korea.

Catback Exhaust - Varies on price, MBRP seems to be the most popular, but good luck finding one used. Haven't been produced for a while. You could just go get a custom 2.25" exhaust made at a local shop if you'd like. 2.5" and up starts hurting horsepower, unless you go Turbo.

Spark plugs and wires - always good to start out with. Several people here could point you to some wires they like, search for it, PRD wires seem to be popular. I've stayed with NGK because they're cheap and reliable. In my opinion, Nology wires are too expensive for what you get. Not worth paying $250 for wires.

HID - We've got a lot of members who have purchased HID headlights from Uneek (member on here) for a very low price (I think it was $200-250?). Everybody's been pleased thus far.

As far as body damage... if I were you I'd pay $350-500 for repair. They'd have to sand it down, fix the dent or use body filler, and repaint fender and bumper while blending it in with rest of car. The body work would probably cost you most of that price. Make sure they blend it in so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. If you were in Nashville, I have a guy who would do it as a favor for around $100-200 and you'd never know anything ever happened.

Not too terribly interested in the car itself, but if you've got anything nice put into it, I might consider that smile.gif

Put my AEM CAI in yesterday... Have to say, I love the sound it makes when you open up the throttle... Big improvement over the stock filter and box. fing02.gif
