I was talking to the guy at the place I am getting mine and he said the thru glass mounts like the car phone antennas. If you have tinted windows, they cut the tint where they install the antenna. Then when they mount it, you don't see where they cut the tint. That way you get good connection to the antenna thru the glass and no visible tint mods. This sounds good in theroy, but I have yet to see it installed.

 

they said that to but also that the antenne doesnt get the best reception, because its just a stick point up, the mouse is wider and it use your car as big antenne
