XM Satellite Radio??????
Does anyone have this yet? I am going to get this with my new Alpine head unit. Also what would be better reception, external antenna or thru glass antenna? The price difference is about $30. The reciever is $280 and the monthly price is $9.99. Let me know your opinions. Thanks.
I have the Alpine also the glass mount antenna is definatly more attractive looking the outside mount looks like a black baby turtle as far as reception goes I install and sell them both and I have heard no complaints about either.

One of my friends at work has this. The sound quality is good.
I just personally have a problem with paying $10 a month for what I can get for free via local radio. I also fear the business model of the companies who run XM radio are flawed, and if they go out of business, you will have paid extra for a radio that no one broadcasts to! Anyone remember Irridium satalite phones?

Yor right Random I agree but the radio's still have the capability of picking up your local stations so it's not a complete lose and from the info I have the have a three year deal with Dish network so atleast for that long it will be useful.
i have xm and i love it and to you people out there that cant see spending 10 dollars for 30's day's of bad as music, then how you fell when you spend 10 on fast food for one dinner anyways i heard from techs that the antnne one is nice if your back window aint tinted if it is then the mouse is the one to use i have it and its not that bad, but having xm after one day will make up for it
I have the Pioneer CD player/xm tuner combo package (still in box) but I haven't gotten the antenna yet. I'll be having my windows tinted soon, so that means I can't use the thru-glass one, right?
This antenna looks pretty big (Dimensions: 3-3/16"W x 4-1/16"H x 3-11/16"D). How exactly is it mounted? Do I need to drill a hole in my hatch for this? Or does a wire go between the hatchback rubber to the antenna mounted at the top of the hatch/roof?
Anyone have any good mounting location ideas?
I like the idea of having xm radio, but I don't want my car to look fugly and I'd prefer to not put any holes in my Tib.

you dont have to drill it a no drill kit it's sticks to the roof and with you having a hatch it will look really nice i saw one on a audi tt it ran between the hatch and the roof it's about the size of a mouse if you want to see a size just look at your mouse
