What are the OEM speaker sizes in an 01 Tib? Looks like the rear speakers are 6x9's. What size are the front door speakers? And are there seperate tweeters in the dash? How the heck do you get to those, do you have to pull the dash out? Usually they're in the A-pillar which is super easy to remove, but I see speaker looking mesh in each corner of the dash.
6.5 in doors (front)
6X9 in rear
2" tweeter in dash, entire dash pad has to be removed to access them, not all Tibs came with these speakers from factory as they were part of upgraded sound system which was optional.

Thanks for the info. That freaking sucks about having to pull the whole dash. Looks like I'll be clipping the wires to the stock tweeters then. And I'll add a component set to replace the 6.5's and put the tweeters on the A-piller. I imagine this is pretty common, what most people do?
I have some cheap set of unopened Pyle components. I know it's a crappy brand, but it's got to sound better than the stockers, right? Not sure if I'll amp them or not...
If your stock speakers are in good shape (not blown) I wouldn't swap them for pyles, unless you are going to amp them. However, I would never amp pyles.
But yes you can mount tweeters in the pillar, but I wouldn't recommend that either. To do so correctly you *should* (not have to) remove the dash, at that point you could use the factory location that fires into the windshield (better location). You could however fab up some mounts on the triangle panel where the door mirrors bolt on. It would take a bit of fiberglass work to do it right, but wiring would be easy to split off the main half of the component set that's already mounted in the door.

Why are putting tweeters in the apiller a bad thing? That's where I put them in my old car and they sounded great. I just don't want to deal with pulling the dash.
What do you mean by the door speakers are crooked? Like how them mount in the door?
I may just save up for some infinity's/alpine components. The Pyle's were given to me for free.

Never said it was a bad thing, only that if you remove the dash to properly hide the speaker wire than you might as well use the factory location because that is better than the pillar. Read the OP.
bigfishmoney is at the very least half retarded and he's telling you that a round speaker is mounted crooked. I would probably just ignore that.
