Okay, I've got a Viper 2 way pager alarm from like 2004, can't remember the model, I think 790x or 590, anyways, it came with the antenna in this picture.

It's ugly as sin, always in my way, and my sunshade tears it off every once in awhile.
Anways, Tibbytib I know has this one on his car with a newer viper.

I checked it out at Nopi last year and it looks like the wiring harness is the same connector, and order of wiring.
Anyone know if I can swap to the new antenna? I can provide more info as needed.
For those that have the second antenna, can you tell me the wiring color order on the connector?
Thanks folks.

I can't see the pictures from work. Antennas are tuned to certain wavelengths(frequency). They may have changed the frequency on the transmitter over the years and the antenna may not be proper. Using the improper antenna (longer or shorter) can cause unneeded signal attenuation to the base unit which will result in shorter range operation of your transmitter.
The best thing to do would be to give a quick call to viper and ask them if they have another antenna that you can use

I can't believe I'm going to do this...but here it goes, you guys might never see this again.
+1 DTN. Good advice. Contact viper alarm systems. They'll provide you with the best accurate answer.

Thanks. I'll try calling them. Reading a few things earlier today, it says that the antenna I want will work on any 4 wire antenna system with a 2 way and LCD remotes. Sounds like mine. I need to find the actual model number out first before I call though.
BTW, I tried DEI earlier, and their 800 number just tries to get you to your nearest dealer.
