Default switch?

okay... I have absolutely no confidence when it comes to electronics... thats why I switched from computer engineering to economics anyway... if I add a switch to the remote wire that goes to the amp, will it turn off the amp when switched? I just want to turn off the sub whenever cops are nearby...

somehting like this spliced into the blue wire should give you that option

that is actualy a three post....you would only need a 2 post.

although not sure how the amp will take it

why not just turn the volume down? easier than running another switch.

yeah, but if the cop stops you anyways, they can ask you to turn it up. A hidden switch wouldn't be a bad idea.... and nice insurance for $4.00 or so.

Shawn, that would work and wouldn't be a bad idea but are your subs viewable if an officer looks in the car? if they are don't waste your time.

the switches are easy to put in, they cost like 3 bucks at any autoparts store. i would go with the 3 post one though. they are dope cause they light up when ur amps on. if u have any questions or problems when u wire it up, just hit me up on AIM and ill help ya the best i can.

well if you turn it up and nothing happens then the cop will get a little sespisous. i suggest a crossover that has a remote bass control. he won't know what it is. but i'm assuming your only running one amp. well i'd take my chances! cause if he's gonna catch you that little switch won't matter. trust me. i've already paid one of those tickets. oh well that's the price you pay.

I ran a swith in my remote wire. It works. I don't need it any more because my amp has a remote gain now, but a toggle switch will work fine in cutting off the sound when you need it...
good luck!
