Default Stock sound system

I was gonna get some subs and an amp so I was wondering how many watts the stock speakers of a 2001 Tiburon have? and can they support an 800 watt amp and subs?

Hell no!! The stock speakers MIGHT be able to handle 20Wrms each. You would really be better off putting in a nice component set.

EDIT****** I just noticed you are new here, and you are from DC.Welcome!!

Yeah you will definatly need new component speakers as well as a new HU. Our stock HU has NO amp outs.

I had an 800 WATT amp w/ 2 10's in my tib , that really has nothing 2 do with the speakers....................................but trust me the speakers we have sound (premium sound system in car) pretty fckin good when they get loud, they don't distort too bad at all. I def would recommend some audiobahn's =)

you will also need a new deck the stock one doesn't have a preamp out.

Well personally I got a NICE set of component speakers. The Pioneer 4 ways for all four speakers and a Clarion HU. With all of the sound I get from that it is defening inside the car. With the bass turned up on the HU it vibrates the sh!t out of all of the panels in the car. I couldnt imagine needing anything more. Just IMO tho.
