Default Speaker recommendations?

For the record, this isn't for the Tib. My other forums are so damn slow and you guys are the best anyway so...

The speakers in my MR2 are blown and dragging coils, generally sounding like f*ck served cold. I'm looking for some replacement speaker recommendations.

Here's the catch, the stock units are 4" round in the front and 3.5" in the rear. I'm going to be molding some custom enclosures for the rear and using the stock mount to house the magnet. Up front I want to do 4x6s because the grill will fit right over the stocker, so it'l look nice and clean. In the back I can do almost anything. I was mostly pondering 6.5s or 6x9s. So what do you guys think?

The deck is an aftermarket pioneer POS Walmart special, but that will eventually get replaced.

I'm not looking to win any competitions, I just want good clean sound.

Good clean sound starts at the deck. Just replacing the deck alone will give you a HUGE improvement. Adding some nice speakers to it will make it even better. I'd start with the deck then speakers. Check out the used sites for a good deck. I just picked up a Clarion 50x4 watt deck with an aux input in the front off a used site for $25! NO JOKE! It's 2 years old. LOL!

What Head unit model? What RMS?. What HPF/LPF are you using if any ?

KICKER DS35 15RMS http://www.ebay.com/itm/KICKER-DS35-...item417286e973 $29

KICKER DS40 25RMS http://www.ebay.com/itm/KICKER-DS40-...item41726dfc39 $39

Allow more power to Rear on Head-unit.

Turn your Low Pass filter up a little and they do fine till u have better head unit.

Your head-unit will be maxing out running. 80RMS.

Also Size don't matter much with mids unless u want to hear them a block away. I worked at Halfords (car shop) who do audio installs. I'v heard $20000 audio system and its mind blowing and none was 6x9

The deck is a deh-2100

It's not spectacular, but it's going to stay put for a while.

I was looking at at the Kicker KS65 last night @ Fry's for the rears.

edit:

For the record, I'll be adding a sub when I overhaul the dash as well. Limited room in the cabin so I'll be making a custom fiberglass enclosure to replace the storage between the seats. Something like this but a little more low profile/tidy:
