sony x-plods dont fit

Default sony x-plods dont fit

I just bought two new sony explode 6x9s for my 97 tiburon, but hey... the d@mn things dont fit... so how do I fix this lil problem? I beat the crap out of them to fit, but thats NOT what I want.. smile.gif any suggestion, especially to those who have done something like this?

no, its the plastic part around the speaker containment... its too close. the outter side of my speaker are thicker then my stock, and I have to pull up the side panel of the back, and literally, beat the speaker down and in to get it to go in... I was wondering if there was an easier way...

This picture, the yellow is the "containment" area of where the basket sits... the green circle is a screw I can take out to wiggle and move the plastic out a LITTLE, which really doesnt help much. The thing is... is the containment/plastic that you see, sits real close to the frame of the car, where I screw in the speakers, and the outter layer of my new speakers are thicker then the stock ones, which are about 1/4 an inch, compared to about a half [the new ones] I just want an easier way to install these babies...
