So what makes a subwoofer good?
My opinion is always that you get what you pay for. High quality materials used versus cheap crappy materials. Larger magnets, high motor strength, larger voice coils, high quality glue and dust caps, rubber surrounds, gold plated connectors, DVC versus SVC, 2ohm and lower stability, power handling, good efficiency, and so on....
I'd say go with folks reviews as well. As for SVC vs DVC, that's not a quality compnent, it's actually used in setting up your system. DVC simply gives you more setup options. There are some folks who believe that SVC actually gives better bass response. In the end, use what you like and what fits your install. They should all be good and if installed and powered correctly, should give good results.
